ON THE COVER
Ain't horsepower pretty? Our cover engine boasts a beautiful 825 horses worth of 600-inch SVO 460 from Fritz Marine Engineering. One of the prettiest colors on a performance engine is aluminum, so the high horsepower version of the Fritz big-block is topped with Ford Motorsport M-6049-A460 "high-port" aluminum heads and M-9424-A460 aluminum intake manifold and Holley Dominator carburetor. In addition to the gleaming Motorsport valve covers and chrome items, the engine is dressed to thrill with a Holley chrome fuel pump, MSD billet distributor, MSD "Blaster" coil and spark plug wires, and coated headers from Kaufmann Products. The trick belt setup is part of Kaufmann's serpentine adapter kit, which allows the installation of late-model serpentine belt accessories on a 460. The complete kit also includes a second bracket for A/C and power steering. Harvey Hester captured the powerful and beautiful big-block. Above, the ubiquitous Mr. Elliott was frozen on the track at Daytona by Mike Slade.
Plus other interesting items.
